Returns & Refunds

How to return something, and what can be returned.

Return window

Returns for eligible non-custom items must be requested within 14 days of delivery.

Custom and made-to-order items

Custom items are made for one person to one specification, so they cannot be resold. Whether they can be returned at all is the single most important line on this page:

Because custom items are made specifically for each customer, custom shoes, custom singlets and other made-to-order products cannot be returned or refunded unless they arrive damaged, defective, or we made an error with your order.

Resale items that have not been customized may be returned according to this policy. Custom-made items follow the rule above and are generally not eligible for return.

Wrong size

Sizing is the most common reason anyone wants to send something back, and for a made-to-order item it is not a fault. Customers are responsible for selecting the correct size before ordering. Custom items cannot be exchanged or returned for ordering the wrong size unless we shipped the incorrect size.

Condition

Returned items must be unused, unworn, in original condition, and returned with all original packaging where applicable. Items tried on only for sizing may still qualify if they remain in brand-new condition.

Who pays return shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or we made an error.

The original shipping cost is non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

There is no restocking fee.

How to start a return

Email owenswrestlingcustom@gmail.com or message @owens_custom.shoes.singlets on Instagram, including your order number and the reason for the return.

Your order number is on your confirmation email, and you can also find it by using order tracking. The contact page has the same details.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the card the order was paid with, through Stripe.

Approved refunds are processed within 3-5 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.

Damaged or incorrect items

If something arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered, that is on us rather than on you — get in touch and it will be put right.

Report damaged or incorrect items within 7 days of delivery, with photographs of the product and the packaging.

What is not a defect

Custom work is hand-made and hand-finished, and it is disclaimed on the product page before you buy. The following are expected outcomes rather than faults, and are not grounds for a return:

Custom shoes are artwork - minor variations may occur. Normal wear over time is expected. Not responsible for damage from improper use.

Custom shoes also carry care instructions, and damage caused by not following them is not a defect. The fullest version, which applies to shoes that are both hand painted and vinyl-finished, reads:

All custom wrestling shoes are HAND PAINTED and should NOT be machine washed, soaked, or heavily scrubbed. Excessive water, detergents, and washing machines may damage the paint, design, and protective finish. We are not responsible for damage caused by improper cleaning, washing, or misuse. These wrestling shoes have been customized using HEAT APPLIED IRON ON VINYL. While the design has been carefully applied, wrestling shoes are not designed for heat transfer vinyl and durability may vary depending on use, flexing of the material, and care. To help the design last as long as possible, please follow these care recommendations: Do NOT wash the shoes. Do NOT place shoes in a washer or dryer. Clean only by gently wiping with a damp cloth if needed. Avoid excessive moisture, heat, or harsh cleaners. Do not scrub or pick at the vinyl design. Because wrestling shoes experience significant bending, friction, and wear during use, some lifting, cracking, or peeling of the vinyl may occur over time. The maker cannot guarantee the lifespan of the design once the item has been worn or used. By using these customized shoes, the user acknowledges and accepts these care recommendations.

The exact care text for your item is the one shown on its own product page, which depends on how it was finished.
